The upcoming iPhone 18 Pro Max is rumored to deliver even better battery performance thanks to a larger battery and a more efficient processor. According to supply chain information shared by well-known Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple’s next-generation flagship could include a battery capacity between 5,100mAh and 5,200mAh.

Paired with the new A20 Pro chip, which is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process, the iPhone 18 Pro Max could offer significant efficiency gains and potentially industry-leading battery life. Reports suggest the device may be slightly thicker than the iPhone 17 Pro Max to accommodate the bigger battery.
For comparison, the current iPhone 17 Pro Max features Apple’s largest battery so far at 5,088mAh, with Apple claiming up to 39 hours of battery life. Independent testing recently ranked the iPhone 17 Pro Max as the longest-lasting smartphone tested, with Apple tying as the top overall brand for battery performance. With the increased capacity and improved chip efficiency, the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery life could comfortably exceed 40 hours.
Foldable iPhone Could Pack 5,500mAh Battery
In addition, Apple’s first foldable iPhone, expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models, is rumored to feature a battery capacity exceeding 5,500mAh. If accurate, this would make it the largest battery ever included in an iPhone — and potentially the biggest among competing foldable smartphones.
Expected iPhone 18 Pro Features
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to debut later this year with several notable upgrades, including:
- A smaller Dynamic Island
- Apple’s new C2 modem
- Simplified Camera Control
- 24MP front-facing camera
- Upgraded main camera with variable aperture
If these rumors hold true, the iPhone 18 lineup could represent one of Apple’s most significant upgrades in recent years, particularly in terms of battery life and camera improvements.
